Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Umara has read the riot act on the State Executive Council (SEC) meeting procures and completion of projects to commissioners.
Umara at the Monday’s second meeting of the SEC directed that all memos for council consideration must be submitted to the cabinet secretariat of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG).
“The submission of the memos; must be a week before the council meeting here in this council Chamber,” he said.
Prof. Umara said that SEC is the ultimate forum where various issues affecting the state are meticulously discussed and approved for implementation. According to him, the implementations are based on the overall socio-economic and political commitments’ of state government.
He said henceforth, the council meetings will be held at the end of first Monday of every month.
On council meeting procedures, he said: “You should understand specific administrative or departmental procedures; peculiar to your respect MDAs against conflicting roles and duplication of policy implementations.
“These include; the policy direction of the 10-point agenda of administration to improve living conditions of people in urban and rural centres of state.”
On new ministries establishments, he said: “The new ministries were created for specific sectors that are central to the fulfillment of developmental needs and aspirations of people.”
“As you settle down to work, priority should be given to the completion of ongoing MDAs projects.
He also directed that all requests be document ally routed through his office to ensure “transparency and accountability” to the people.
