The Bauchi State House of Assembly has expressed readiness to partner association, unions and clubs, aimed at Improving the welfare of its citizenry and encourage development.
Deputy Speaker of the assembly, Danlami Ahmed Kawule made the disclosure when the Bauchi State Women Empowerment and Vocational Training Initiative Rafin Makaranta presented an award of excellence to him in Bauchi on Wednesday.
Danlami Kawule showed appreciation for the award given him in recognition of his support and encouragement to women groups in his constituency.
He promised to redouble his effort in this regard and to go into partnership with associations, unions and related groups to move the state forward in terms of development.
Kawule stressed the need for self reliance especially among women in purdah, saying gone were the days when women relied on their husbands for everything, while also commanding the association for the initiatives.
Speaking also, the State Coordinator of the association, Hafis Nata’ala, said they have trained over 100 women in various crafts to enable them become self reliant.
According to him, they have plans to extend their services to all parts of the state to assist both the government and the society in order to Improve socio economic wellbeing of the people in the state.
Nata’ala also sought the intervention of the state legislators to enable them realize their potentials.
The association noted with satisfaction some of the contributions made by the Deputy Speaker in his constituency, within the short period of assumption in office and urged him to continue in that direction.
He therefore called on legislators to emulate the effort made so far by the Deputy Speaker, in this humanitarian assistance to ensure that the present administration achieve its desired objective for making its citizens to become self reliant.
