The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, has inaugurated 28 bedrooms flats at the Nigerian Air Force Base, Bauchi.
The Chief of Air Staff, at Ceremony in Bauchi on Thursday assured officers and men of the command that their welfare would not be compromised.
Abubakar, who was represented by Air Vice Marshal James Gwani, Air Officer Commanding AOC Special Operations Bauchi said NAF would make sure personnel live in a very comfortable and relaxed atmosphere to help boost their morale.
“Some months ago, I commissioned the commando village and some blocks of offices and airmen/airwomen residential accommodations.
“Today we are going to commission 2 blocks of furnished 10 x 1 bedroom SOQ, 3 units of 2 x 3 bedroom semi- detached bungalows, a block of 6 x 2 bedroom flats for our senior non- commissioned officers and 4 blocks of 10 x 1 regiment transit quarters.
“God willing, we will also be here to commission the Regiment olympic size swimming pool and the K9 Wing shortly,” he said.
According to him, these projects are geared towards further enhancing the welfare of our personnel to enable them to focus on their assigned tasks and contribute in adding value to the Service.
The COA remind citizens and the personnel of their tasked of nation building as a collective responsibility, especially with the dynamics of the current security challenges facing our country.
He urged officers and men to remain focused and continue to conduct yourselves in line with the laws of the nation and the international humanitarian laws in the discharge of their duties.
The Air Force boss commended President Mohammadu Buhari for his support, with a promise to continue sustaining efforts towards enhancing the security of the nation that is critical to nation building.
Also speaking, Air Commander Nazeef Aliyu, the commander 251 Base Services Group Bauchi said that the achievements recorded was in line with the CAS Air Marshal Saddique Abubakar vision to reposition the NAF into a highly professional and disciplined force.
“Through capacity building initiatives for effective, efficient and timely employment of air power in response to Nigeria’s national security imperatives”. Aliyu said
He said the buildings commissioned today will reduce the challenges of accommodation deficiency and will further enhance personnel professionalism.
